SWAT (Students Working for Alcohol Truths)

SWAT (Student Working for Alcohol Truths) is a student led after school group. Members of SWAT work within their schools and community to reduce underage drinking by drawing awareness to not only the dangers of underage drinking, but how advertising influences young people's choices and ways local businesses can change how alcohol is advertised in their establishment. Additionally, SWAT coordinates county wide campaigns designed to target adults who may provide alcohol to minors

While SWAT's overall mission is to reduce underage drinking in their communities, they work hard to advocate for and support their peers substance free choices thru various school events and activities.

Currently there is a SWAT group at both Canastota and Oneida Middle Schools.
