Programs and Services

Prevention

  • Choices and Consequences, is an educational program that helps teens examine the consequences of alcohol, tobacco and other drug use and fosters the development of life skills.
  • INROADS, is a school based program designed to positively impact decision making skills and knowledge about alcohol, tobacco, and other drug issues.
  • Madison County Rite Aid Quiz Show, is a state wide program using a quiz show format designed to increase knowledge about alcohol, tobacco and other drug use for middle school aged youth.
  • Madison County's Promise - The Alliance for Youth, is a county-wide collaboration whose goal is to ensure that the young people in our community have access to caring adults, safe places, a healthy start, marketable skills, and opportunities to serve (the five promises).
  • Reality Check, is a statewide youth led movement against the manipulative marketing practices of the tobacco industry.
  • Strengthening Families is a workshop for parents and their children ages 10 - 14, with facilitators leading sessions once a week for seven weeks. While parents work with a trained facilitator for the first hour of the program each session, the youth work with facilitators in their own group. During the second hour, both parents and children come together to learn how to set limits and strengthen bonds within the family. In the program's seven session, parents will add to their "parenting toolbox", and teens will gain a greater respect for themselves and their parent/caregivers.
