Responsible Server Training
Responsible Server Training, developed by the Genesee/Orleans Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse, is a program designed to impact the environment by educating those who are selling and/or serving alcohol. This training helps inform servers and owners of alcohol establishments of the state laws that prohibit alcohol sales to minors and obviously intoxicated persons, so that the laws are not violated. It also increases awareness of the effects of alcohol on the brain, intoxication rate factors, tolerance and BAC, and intervention strategies, including checking IDs. Ideally, both on-premise and off-premise establishments will develop and implement policies related to serving and the training of management and servers.
Trainings are available, at a nominal cost, on a regular basis for establishments or organizations that sell or serve alcohol to the public. Call Abby Simchik at 315 697-3947 for information on classes available in Madison County.
