BRiDGES EAP provides confidential assessment and referral services on a face-to-face basis and over the telephone. The initial assessment, which usually last about one hour, involves an exploration of the presenting problem with the employee or a family member. Additional appointments may be scheduled as require.

During the assessment and referral process the employee assistance counselor matches the employee with appropriate community resources. This matching takes into consideration the nature of the problem, the person's insurance coverage, schedule considerations, location issues and provider preference. Referrals to service providers are made as indicated.

The EAP can help with any kind of personal or family problem. The problems may include:

• Stress
• Marital difficulties
• Emotional problems
• Domestic violence
• Financial distress
• Concerns about use of alcohol or other drugs.
