Mini Grants

Madison County's Promise started awarding Mini Grants in 2006. The mini grants have been given out annually since 2006.
The Mini Grants are a unique program specifically for Madison County youth (7th-12th grade). The grants are given
to support programs created by and run for youth. Madison County youth can apply for the grants by filling out
applications which are then presented to a group of judges who review and judge the applications.  Sample Application.

In the past the Mini Grants have used the 5 Promises as a theme for the projects. In 2009 the theme for the grants
asked applicants to focus specifically on reducing substance abuse. This theme continued for the 2010 grants as well.

The funds for the grants come from fundrainsers and donations given by local organizations and local community members.

The application process for the mini grants usually starts in February and wraps up in April. The judging takes place in April
and funding is awarded at a Community Board meeting over the summer. The projects get underway in September and wrap
up with a Community Board presentation in December. In December the grantees are asked to present their project and their
experience to the Madison County's Promise Community Board. We encourage youth from the previous years grants to come
back in April and sit on the judging pannel for the next round of Mini Grants.

2011 Mini Grant Applications are now being accepted. Please see below for the application link.
