INROADS (INformation and Referral On Alcohol and other Drugs for Schools) is an in school student assistance program that provides:  


  • Information, assessment and referral services
  • Individual and group support for issues related to alcohol, tobacco and other drugs
  • Workshops for parents and teachers
  • Collaboration with other school based prevention programs like  SADD, the Rite Aid Drug Quiz Show, and Teen Institute
  • Collaboration with community based prevention programs like Youth Activities Board, STATIC and Players for Prevention
  • Consultation with parents and school personnel regarding substance issues
  • Class presentations and workshops
  • Videos, pamphlets, books, activity sheets and other resources for teens, parents and school personnel

During the school year a prevention education specialist from BRiDGES is available at participating schools to facilitate a "Concerned Youth Program" for students concerned about another's use, and "Choices and Consequences" for students concerned about their own use. The prevention education specialist is also available for classroom presentations and other specialized training for teachers, parents and staff.

School's recieving INROADS Services for the 2008-2009 School year:

  • Otto Shortell Middle School - Mondays and Tuesdays
  • Stockbridge Valley Central School - Fridays
  • DeRuyter - Thursdays
